The Wayland Library is pleased to co-sponsor the appearance of author David Chanoff at Sudbury’s Goodnow Library. Marlborough resident Chanoff will read from his recently published book, Singing Was the Easy Part, co-authored with 1940’s pop singer, Vic Damone. The book is a collection of anecdotes detailing Damone’s “rags-to-riches” tale of success in the entertainment world. It includes stories of involvement with mobsters who tried to kill him; his loves, losses, and marriages; golf buddies Jack Benny, George, Burns, Ben Hogan; and close friendships with Frank Sinatra’s "Rat Pack." Chanoff has woven together a vivid and humorous portrait of American popular culture of the mid-20th century and many of its brightest stars.
