Wayland Town Crier 4/8/09: Results are in: Winners are Astley, Dieffenbach, Pope and Fay. Residents returned Jeff Dieffenbach to another three-year term on the School Committee and elected newcomer Malcolm Astley to the same board. In the Board of Selectmen’s race for two three-year terms, residents elected former state Rep. Susan Pope with 2,174 votes. Pope previously served as selectman from 1994 to 2003 and state representative from 1997 to 2006. Voters also OK’d two Proposition 2-1/2 debt exclusions, one for $1.08 million to pay for five capital projects and a second for $726,000 for a feasibility study and designs for a new High School.
