Metrowest Daily News 4/4/09: Woman dies in Wayland crash. A woman died in a head-on collision on Rte. 27 in Wayland Saturday afternoon. According to Wayland Police Officer William Reilly, the victim was driving a red Toyota car northbound on Rte. 27 near the intersection of Old Connecticut Path when she veered into the southbound lane. The Toyota was struck head-on by a silver Pontiac SUV in the southbound lane. The driver of the Toyota was taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Natick where she was pronounced dead, Reilly said. Two people in the Pontiac were take to the hospital where they were treated and released.
