Middle school musicians still needed for rock bands.

Teamwork Through Tunes kicked off with an open house last week attended by middle school students from Weston, Sudbury, Wayland and Needham. Steve Robb, the founder of TTT, had available guitars, a bass guitar, drums and keyboards for the musicians, and after 30 minutes of totally disorganized musical chaos, Charlie D’Ambrosio, a TTT mentor, worked with the musicians to play a basic blues pattern. After success with that Robb directed a version of Sweet Home Alabama, familiar to all the musicians, which drew applause from the parents. Many parents reported how inspired their teen was after finally playing with other musicians instead of playing at home alone. Teamwork Through Tunes, sponsored by the YES Committee of Sudbury United Methodist Church, is dedicated to assisting middle school age musicians in forming or joining musical groups to foster team spirit in a creative environment. The musicians who have signed up for TTT will be encouraged and guided by both adult and high school mentors, and concerts featuring TTT bands will be planned in the future. New participants are always welcome and are encouraged to contact Robb at Teamworkthroughtunes@gmail.com. All musical abilities, both instrumental and vocal, are welcome. Musicians who attended the open house and who contact TTT soon will be matched up and will meet their band-mates March 20th, 4-5pm at Russell’s Garden Center.
