Most MetroWest towns in same financial boat

Metrowest Daily News 1/14/09:  Most MetroWest towns in same financial boat. Wayland is looking to reduce its 2010 budget by $500,000, with the schools bearing $350,000 of that burden. Already left out of the school budget were elementary-level reading and math specialists, funding for professional development, money for various supplies and replacement of copiers, and assistant principals for Claypit Hill and Happy Hollow schools. Wayland has more than $6 million in free cash available, or about 10 percent of its budget.
