Library Announcements

Summer hours:  Our summer weekend hours begin on Saturday, June 27.  During the summer we will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed on Sundays.  Weekday hours remain the same as the rest of the year.  Also, the library will be closed over the long holiday weekend of July 3, 4, and 5.  We will re-open on Monday, July 6.

Summer Reading Program:  “Starship Adventure,” our summer reading program, encourages children to read during the summer months.  Kids can register after June 1 by going to waylandlibrary.org.  We have planned many fun events, starting with “Stories from Outer Space” with Sparky’s Puppets on Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m.  Other programs include a Beacon Street Girls party on Tuesday, July 14, at 2 p.m.; a family concert with Peter & Ellen Allard on Thursday, July 16, at 11 a.m.; Ed Pop’s Flea Circus on Tuesday, July 21, at 3 p.m.; and on Friday, July 24, at 7 p.m., an astronomy program about meteorites (for ages 8 and up) with Jim Zebrowski of the Aldrich Astronomical Society.  Some events may require pre-registration.  Check out our event calendar at waylandlibrary.org for details.

Summer Book Club for Kids:  Our “Passport to Adventure” book club for kids 8-11 will meet on Wednesdays, July 15, 29 and August 12 from 10 a.m.-noon.  Join local author Helen Kampion for reading, writing, and fun activities.  Register online through our event calendar.
