Wayland Patch 5/31/12: Wayland-Weston Crew Wins State Championship. The Wayland-Weston Crew team travelled to Lowell on Sunday, May 27 to compete in the Massachusetts Public School Rowing Association (MPSRA) Spring State Championships. On a beautiful day for rowers and spectators, high school teams from around the state competed on the Merrimack River for the state title. And it was a beautiful day in another way for Wayland-Weston crew, who successfully defended its title, winning its seventh straight spring state championship.

Harvard Crimson 10/21/11: Radcliffe Crew Turns to Veteran. Though the face of Radcliffe lightweight crew has changed drastically over the past year, the team has found stability and leadership in co-captain Marissa Reichel. “Marissa is an amazing athlete and a great leader on the team,” senior coxswain Maryana Vrubel said. “She’s been doing a really great job as captain. It’s nice to have someone so dependable on the team.” Reichel and dependability on the water have gone hand-in-hand throughout her rowing career. Dating back to her days with Wayland-Weston Crew in high school, Reichel helped lead the way to four Massachusetts state championships.

Wayland Patch 7/24/11: Wayland Rowers Take Bronze at Nationals. Gabriella Purman and Hannah Brigham had the race of their lives at the 2011 U.S. Rowing Club National Championships, winning a bronze medal. The Wayland rowers joined the Boston Rowing Club for the summer and the team travelled to Indianapolis for the national championship regatta. The regatta was a five-day event starting on July 13.

The Wayland-Weston Crew team traveled to Oak Ridge Tennessee to compete their 3 qualifying boats in the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships.  Summary of results…

Wayland Patch 6/3/11: Wayland-Weston Crew Repeat State Champions. The Wayland-Weston crew team extended its winning streak at the State Championships. For six straight years the team has brought home the state championship trophies for girls, boys and overall.
