The Department of Public Works opened its doors on Saturday morning for a tour and a presentation summarizing the history of and plans for a long-awaited replacement of its 80-year-old facility on Main Street. The original 13,000-square-foot building dates to the 1930s, and the most recent significant upgrade was done 40 years ago.
