News and Information for Wayland
Join us on Tuesday, March 26 at noon in the Council on Aging to learn about America’s opioid crisis and our local response. Wayland’s Public Health Nurse Michele Schuckel, MBA, BSN, MPH candidate, will talk about how the epidemic affects us all, even if we haven’t been touched by it personally. Learn about the disease of addiction, why reducing the stigma surrounding it is imperative to making progress, and how the science of harm reduction is being employed in the fight. Find out how Wayland, the region, and the Commonwealth are responding. Learn how Naloxone — brand-name Narcan — works to reverse the effects of an overdose, and how easy it is to administer. Reservations are requested at 508-358-2990 or coa@wayland.ma.us, but please feel free to come without registering. Bring your lunch, we will serve beverages and dessert.
