News and Information for Wayland
On April 14 at 10 a.m. Many of us grew up being taught that the United States of America was the greatest nation on earth. We learned patriotic songs and were subtly (or not so subtly) guided to view people from other countries with suspicion. Today, many in our country have not only continued in that line of thinking but have upped the nationalist rhetoric to dangerous levels. But we are not alone. While we declare our superiority, other nations do the same. It is a dangerous game of illusion that we as UUs must work to counter if we are to help create peace for all. Join us this week as we explore the illusion of nationalism and what a UU response can look like. The service will be led by the Rev. Deborah Bennett.
