Wayland Town Crier 5/14/09: Wayland Hockey Association expands. The Wayland Hockey Association (WHA) supports local students playing ice hockey for their school team in Wayland (or Wayland and Weston, in the case of girls who partner with our neighboring town). With a recent surge in hockey interest, WHA now helps to put 120 student athletes on the ice. This past winter, the organization was instrumental in fielding six hockey teams, plus a developmental program for elementary school girls. Parents, players and the fundraising efforts of the association pay for all hockey programs, because the schools lend no financial assistance.
