Golden Tones Seeking Singing Seniors

Love to sing?  Retired or semi-retired?  The Golden Tones, a MetroWest-area 60-voice senior citizen chorus, announces the start of its 22nd season, welcoming new members who are in their retirement years.  Visit our website and see our appearance on CNN, demonstrating how singing keeps people healthy!

Entering its 22nd season, the Golden Tones chorus practices and provides enriching entertainment for senior citizen facilities, schools, faith communities and public events. Our members are men and women of retirement age who sing and dance to lift spirits, have fun, and promote health and social engagement to benefit our audiences and ourselves.

We welcome all singers regardless of musical experience.  There are NO AUDITIONS; the only requirement is a love of good music!  All voices improve the sound of the chorus, you don’t have to read sheet music to participate, and we also welcome members who prefer to assist with the program “backstage.”  Come enjoy the opportunity to bring joyful music into the community and the company of like-minded music-lovers.

Our season will begin with an open rehearsal at the Wayland Senior Center on Tuesday, September 1st, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  A welcome reception will be hosted by the Wayland Council on Aging at 10:00 a.m.   We rehearse on most Tuesday mornings and perform mostly on Friday afternoons.  There is no attendance requirement to belong.

The Golden Tones chorus was recently recognized as a Best Practice in the Creativity and Aging study sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts.  For more information, call 508-358-0111 or visit us online.
