ASL Basics, Part 2
Prerequisite: ASL Basics, Part 1 - Registration opens 8/4/2021 The main focus of this course is to incorporate the participants’ current vocabulary into Conversational Phrases that can be used immediately. To achieve this, we have expanded our sign vocabulary in the following ways: Greetings, “Good morning (afternoon, evening), How (are) you?” and responses such as, “(I) Fine, SO-SO Okay, Tired…” Additionally, this course teaches how to ask about another person’s activities such as, “Today, you do (what?)” and responses “Today, Afternoon Wedding (I) Go To” and finally how to end conversations such as, “Bye, see later” “See tomorrow” “Take care”. This course is taught in 4 - 45 minutes virtual Zoom sessions, and allows up to 20 participants.  Participants that begin with the course remain until the last class. Includes:
  • Live experienced ASL Instructor.
  • Handouts of that includes signs learned during the class.
  • Videos embedded in the handouts. These videos include an instructor signing the vocabulary learned during the live session.
