On May 17, 2004 at 12:01 a.m. the first-ever marriage license for a same sex couple was issued in Cambridge, Mass. The first wedding took place later that morning. This monumental win for human rights is vital to remember and to celebrate. We’ll do so during our service on May 19, beginning at 10 a.m.
The work to achieve full equity and inclusion for all LGBTQ+ people is far from over but let us continue that charge with a celebration of the fact that “Love is Love” and is the birthright of all! Come dressed in rainbow colors or wedding celebration attire if you’d like. All are welcome. The service will be led by the Rev. Deborah Bennett.
