Each year the Celebration International Church’s Food Pantry provides aid to hundreds of families for Thanksgiving. We call this annual initiative Operation Turkey Express and it’s one of our favorite annual events. Many families have come to depend on us for their turkey and Thanksgiving fixings. We are looking forward to sharing hope with them once again on November 19th. Details can be found on our calendar www.cicalive.org/events.

I’m submitting this post, first in the hopes to extend an invitation to any who may be needing some assistance. If you know of someone who is facing food uncertainty, we’d love to help. Share our post with them and encourage them to sign up, it’s 100% free and simple. They can reach out to our church office at 508-653-6864 and we’ll gladly assist them in getting registered.

Secondly, I’d also like to share our own need in case anyone in the community could assist us financially with a donation. Our turkey supplier was unable to fulfill our order for 400 turkeys due to the supply chain shortage. They recommended giving families a gift card in lieu of the turkey. That is not ideal since so many depend on us for a turkey, and supplies are limited at those supermarkets. After contacting numerous vendors, our only option has been to purchase these turkeys at triple the cost. We operate on a tiny budget and this setback would eat up our entire annual budget. Thankfully we’re all set with the other food items, we just need help to buy the turkeys. Any financial help, whether small or large, would go a long way!
