WSPN wins national journalism awards

On Saturday, April 9, numerous WSPN staff members won Journalism Education Association National Student Media Contests at the National High School Journalism Convention in Los Angeles, California. Each award was classified as either superior, excellent or an honorable mention. Along with the media contests, WSPN’s Emily Roberge and staff reporter Kally Proctor won NSPA’s Best of Show Awards in the Social Justice Reporting category.

After being named one of 47 Pacemaker finalists, WSPN was selected to be a Pacemaker winner at the National High School Journalism Convention in Los Angeles, California. The Pacemaker Award honors the nation’s best scholastic news sites, and WSPN is one of 20 sites to win this year.
