  • Library Pages Needed. The Library has three paid Page positions available for nine hours (three 3-hour shifts) each per month on weekends. Pages shelve and organize library collection materials, find books requested by patrons, and keep books and audiovisual materials in order.  The work requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently.  Pages must be at least 14 years old, responsible and punctual, as well as consistently available for their shifts.  Contact M. J. Wright at mwright@minlib.net or by calling (508) 358-2311.
  • Calling All Amateur Archivists. The Wayland Public Library has recently digitized four volumes of handwritten Wayland Library Trustee Records from 1870-1945 that are now available on the Internet Archive.  We need to have about 700 pages transcribed into type to make them searchable and easier to read.  We’re hoping to find 10-20 volunteers to help with this project, perhaps staggered throughout the year. It’s an opportunity to view historic documents and get a close-up look at the library’s early days.  If interested, please contact M.J. Wright at 508-358-2311 or mwright@minlib.net.

Many New Things. Our Library of Things just got three excellent additions.  With the Rapitest 4-Way Soil Analyzer, you can test your garden or houseplant soil for fertility (nitrogen/phosphorous/potash,) light, moisture, and pH.  The Benjamin Moore Color Preview Fan Deck will help with your decorating and paint selection decisions.  And you can investigate the plants, insects and microbes in your environment with the IQ Crew 52-Piece Microscope Set.
