  • Slavery in Sudbury (Early Wayland). Most people think slavery in America was confined to the South.  Jane Sciacca of the Wayland Historical Society dispels this myth by examining slavery and enslaved people in colonial Sudbury (modern-day Wayland and Sudbury).  She’ll shed light on incidents and attitudes that typify slave experiences here as well as in the rest of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and New England.  This important subject has had too little attention for too long.  Presented in collaboration with the WHS.  Register through our Events menu.  Sunday, March 21 at 2 p.m.
  • Spring Refresh! Home and Garden Organization. Suffering from pandemic fatigue? Craving the outdoors? Spring is almost here! Home and garden organizer Cindi Jacobs will discuss how our environment affects our emotions and will offer tools to transform your home’s exterior. Learn how you can create a space of well-being and growth in your own backyard.  Register through our Events menu.  Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m.
  • How to Libby. Learn all about Libby, the free, streamlined e-reading app, in this virtual training program.  Choose from one of three 30-minute sessions at 9, 9:30, or 10 a.m, conducted by Libby experts from Overdrive.  All three cover the same essentials, including setup, basic tools, searching, borrowing, and more.  Then, at 10:30, you can continue with a deep dive for another half-hour into some of Libby’s cooler features, learning handy tips and tricks.  Register through our Events menu.  Friday, March 26.
  • Big Return on Investment. In January, we circulated $232,393 worth of materials.  Our materials budget for the entire year is just $195,000.  Pretty darn good value for your tax dollar, if we say so ourselves.
  • Why Are Things I Returned Still On My Card? Because we quarantine everything for three days before we check it in.  And if you returned them over the weekend, that could add a day.  But never fear—we’ll waive any late fees generated by the delayed check-in.
