Wayland Town Crier 4/16/18: Former Wayland school chief to visit for METCO celebration. Former superintendent, Dr. William Zimmerman, is joining Wayland’s open house celebration of 50 years as a METCO town on Sunday, April 29 in the South Building at Wayland High School from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Commonly known as Dr. Z, he was Wayland’s superintendent for 23 years starting from 1971. These years correspond with the first two decades of Wayland METCO.
