BIOGRAPHY
CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT KAREN
R. MCCOY
Chief Master Sergeant Karen R. McCoy is the Command Chief
Master Sergeant for the Electronic Systems Center and 66th
Air Base Wing, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. As the command
chief master sergeant, she plays a critical role in the
readiness of the enlisted force and serves primarily as a
conduit of information between the commanders and enlisted
personnel. She ensures the enlisted members understand the
commander’s policies, organizational goals, and objectives.
Additionally, she advises commanders on concerns, attitudes,
morale, welfare, effective utilization of the enlisted force
and other matters that affect readiness. Chief McCoy
monitors compliance with Air Force standards, serves on
advisory councils, and maintains a close relationship with
the local community. She also serves on committees
developing and implementing Air Force policies and programs
and performs other specific duties at the commander’s
discretion.
Previous to this assignment,
she was the First Sergeant for Air Force Material Command at
Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Chief McCoy is a native of Derry,
New Hampshire, and graduated from James Wood High School,
Winchester, Virginia, in 1980 and attended Virginia Tech
until enlisting in the Air Force Delayed Enlistment Program
in 1984. She held a variety of jobs in the Surgical Services
and First Sergeant career fields. She deployed in support of
Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM, and combat missions
to the Horn of Africa. She has been married to Michael J.
McCoy for 17 years.
