BIOGRAPHY

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT KAREN R. MCCOY
Chief Master Sergeant Karen R. McCoy is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the Electronic Systems Center and 66th Air Base Wing, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. As the command chief master sergeant, she plays a critical role in the readiness of the enlisted force and serves primarily as a conduit of information between the commanders and enlisted personnel. She ensures the enlisted members understand the commander’s policies, organizational goals, and objectives. Additionally, she advises commanders on concerns, attitudes, morale, welfare, effective utilization of the enlisted force and other matters that affect readiness. Chief McCoy monitors compliance with Air Force standards, serves on advisory councils, and maintains a close relationship with the local community. She also serves on committees developing and implementing Air Force policies and programs and performs other specific duties at the commander’s discretion.

Previous to this assignment, she was the First Sergeant for Air Force Material Command at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Chief McCoy is a native of Derry, New Hampshire, and graduated from James Wood High School, Winchester, Virginia, in 1980 and attended Virginia Tech until enlisting in the Air Force Delayed Enlistment Program in 1984. She held a variety of jobs in the Surgical Services and First Sergeant career fields. She deployed in support of Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM, and combat missions to the Horn of Africa.
