Saturday, October 10, Fire Safety Open House, Wayland Public Safety Buidling, 10am-1pm

October is National Fire Prevention Month, and Papa Gino’s is teaming up with local fire departments to help educate the community on fire safety and prevention.  For 15 years, New England fire departments and Papa Gino’s have helped nearly 2 million people by supplying educational materials and free pizza at fire safety open houses.  The Wayland Fire Department’s event at the Wayland Public Safety Building, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10am-1pm.  Some of the exciting visuals will include firefighters demonstrating the way to escape a smoke-filled room, cooking safety tips, fire prevention tips, and Sparky, the fire safety mascot, interacting with children.  Each year, fires claim hundreds of lives throughout New England. Fire safety open houses are geared toward educating the community and preparing them for potential fires. Each year, these open houses help to better prepare families in the event of a fire and hopefully save lives.  For more information about this open house contact Capt. Dan Buentello at 508-358-6922.
