What rain? Towns set water bans

Metrowest Daily News 6/28/09: What rain? Towns set water bans. Some towns, including Wayland, have encouraged residents to conserve water with voluntary restrictions.

Don Millette, general foreman at the Wayland Water Department, said the town has a voluntary water ban every year to keep people aware of their water usage.

“We start with a voluntary ban and if water consumption gets to a point where there is major concern then we go to a mandatory ban,” said Millette.

Wayland draws its water from wells.
