State to begin herbicide treatments in Lake Cochituate today

Wayland Town Crier 6/4/09: State to begin herbicide treatments in Lake Cochituate today. Herbicide treatments in the North Pond of Lake Cochituate will begin today even with state officials slated to meet with the Natick Conservation Commission tonight. The Department of Conservation and Recreation received approval for using chemicals to kill Eurasian milfoil from the conservation commissions in both Framingham and Wayland, said agency spokeswoman Wendy Fox. Most of North Pond lies in those towns, with a sliver in Natick.
