Registration is open for the 2009 Wayland Weston Pop Warner (WWPW) Football and Cheerleading season. Go to www.wwpopwarner.com to sign up now.

WWPW attracts kids aged 7-15 and their parents who love the skill, character and community building designed into the program. The season starts with evening practices starting August 10 and continues with weekday evening practices and Sunday games in September and October on the Wayland High School turf field and at opponent’s stadiums in eastern Massachusetts.

One parent described the unique contribution WWPW makes to her kids in the end-of-year survey this way: “Awesome. My son grew mentally and physically from football this year. He attacks all his sports and even school with a stronger approach now. It really changed him. He can’t wait for next year. Thank you!!!”

WWPW lives by the values of fairness and safety, the co-dependence of academics and athletics, and the lessons of dedication, teamwork, sportsmanship and community. Part of a national non-profit organization with over 400,000 kids, Pop Warner’s age and weight limits keep kids of similar size and maturity together. Statistics kept by the national association show injury rates in Pop Warner football to be no higher than those in youth soccer for kids of the same ages.

Parents and other volunteers in Wayland and Weston run our program, are trained to coach our teams, announce games, choreograph cheers, take game films, hold the chains and do other activities that keep them close to the action and their kids. An active Boosters program makes the environment complete with tailgate parties, concessions, an annual golf tournament (May 29) and end of season awards banquet.

Go to www.wwpopwarner.com to learn more and register in advance of the May 20 and May 26 equipment nights in the cafeteria at Wayland High School. Sign up your children for football and cheerleading experiences that will provide them a lifetime foundation for personal and community growth.
