Have you heard about the big concrete apartment house that a developer is planning to build at the site of Mahoney's Garden Center on Route 20 in Wayland?

Four stories tall with 89 bedrooms, and 10,000 gallons of sewage per day next to Pine Brook. The developer, Steven Zieff, is using the 40B process to ram it through -- ignoring Wayland's zoning and environmental protection regulations.

PLEASE attend the Wayland Conservation Commission hearing this Thursday, 11 May at 7:30pm in the Town Building. The environmental impact of this large apartment house is a key problem, in addition to more traffic and the blight it would create in our neighborhood. Pine Brook runs through the Mahoney property; see the maps attached below. Pine Brook is also one of two cold water streams in Wayland, and connects directly to Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge -- 1 mile to the west in Wayland. This is the worst possible place for 10,000 gallons of sewage per day!

The 40B process is fast and 'developer friendly'. We will only have one shot to stop this oversized project. So please join us at the Conservation Commission hearing on Thursday, 11 May! Your support is vital. If you would like one of our lawn signs, please send an email to ProtectWayland@Gmail.com.
