Metrowest Daily News 1/3/09:  Are regional services a solution for tough times?  Wayland and Sudbury are looking at combining library, transfer station and the park and recreation department with counterparts in Wayland. Last month, boards of selectmen from both towns met over dinner to begin discussions, said O’Brien. The towns already share a sewage treatment plant on Rte. 20.  One example of a merger could be coordinating the schedules of both towns’ libraries: Neither would be shuttered, but could share operating hours during the work week.
