Imagine the elimination of long standing votes, radically shortened town meetings and better quality information. All of these are possible in 2010 and will be voted on at the next town meeting! Come try it yourself on February 4th, large hearing room, Wayland Town Building, 7:30-8:30pm.
The worst problems with the centuries-old Town Meeting format can be addressed with 21st century solutions. A tutorial on Electronic Voting technology will be presented by Option Technologies Interactive representatives. A short simulated Electronics-enhanced Town Meeting will then be held in which video from the November 2009 Wayland Town Meeting will provide context and attendees will vote using a live electronic voting apparatus provided by Option Technologies Interactive. A new multimedia warrant article website will be demonstrated.
It will be shown that Electronic Voting can:
