Wellesley police investigate bomb threat

Wellesley Townsman 1/18/10: Wellesley police investigate bomb threat. On Jan. 15 at 2:49 p.m., police received a report from an unknown male calling from a payphone at the Shell Gas station at 987 Worcester St. The man said there was an explosive device in the rear of the Domino’s in Wayland. Wellesley police also responded to the Domino’s in Wellesley and found nothing suspicious. In Wayland, police found a device meant to look like a pipe bomb. The State Police bomb squad dismantled the device and determined it did not contain explosive materials. Wellesley police took the payphone to examine it for fingerprints. The hoax is under investigation by Wayland, Wellesley and State Police detectives and investigators.
