Preview of December 14 Board of Selectmen Meeting from Town Administrator Fred Turkington

The next regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen will be held on Monday, December 14 beginning at 7pm in Town Building.  After convening the meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, the Board will recess to attend the Finance Committee presentation on their updated long-range finance plan in the Large Hearing Room.

At approximately, 7:50pm, selectmen will reconvene to hear public comment.

At 8pm, the chair, treasurer and finance/budget sub-committee members of the WayCAM board of directors will provide an overview of the finances of the non-profit public access corporation.  They will also review the budget for calendar year 2010 and the group's capital budget.

Following the WayCAM presentation, selectmen will briefly discuss allegations of violations of the Open Meeting Law.

Selectmen will then turn to the proposed FY11 general government budgets under the jurisdiction of the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator, reviewing departments other than public safety (which were reviewed last week).  The Finance Committee guidelines called for maintaining current spending, except alloted increases for insurances, fuel and step salary changes.  They have asked the Town Administrator to develop a list of recommended reductions necessary to achieve a no override budget for FY11.  Those recommendations will be discussed on January 19.

Later in the evening, selectmen will review correspondence, consider the consent calendar, and discuss projected meeting agenda items for the next several meetings.  The Board will approve the proposed schedule and timeline for the Annual Town Election and Annual Town Meeting and renew common victuallers and liquor licenses for calendar year 2010.

Lastly, selectmen will discuss the draft performance evaluation of the Town Administrator, make any consensus changes to the text, and approve the document.

The meeting begins at 7pm.
