Proposed school budgets cuts unveiled

Wayland Student Press Network 12/11/09: Proposed school budgets cuts unveiled. Proposed district-wide school budgets cuts totaling to about $1.4 million were announced by Superintendent Gary Burton last Monday night, at the bi-weekly School Committee meeting. Cuts at the high school alone would total a little less than $600,000.

The proposal is now available online for the public, and must be amended and approved by the School Committee to become final. If passed, it would result in the deepest budget cuts in recent memory.

CORRECTION:  Cuts from FY2010 to FY2011 are $725,050.  The reduction at the High School (based on the Superintendent's proposal) is $566,805.
