Friday, November 20, SMART Gals Free Family Night, Discovery Museums, Acton, 5:30-8pm

Activities at both Children’s and Science buildings.  The Discovery Museums’ SMART Gals (Science-Math-Art) series takes flight during this free evening of exploration at both buildings. Imagine yourself an aviatrix, aviator, or explorer as you try different activities at Children’s. At Science, historic re-enactor, Jessa Piaia, will present “Meet Amelia Earhart: First Lady of the Air” a one-person interpretation of the pioneer aviatrix who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1932. The program is set in 1936, when Earhart was a popular speaker on the national circuit and preparing for her 1937 around-the-world flight. Ms. Piaia studied performance at London’s Oval House Theatre and is acclaimed for “recreating history in the fullest sense.”
**This show is geared for ages eight through adult and tickets for 6 PM and 7 PM performances will be available on a first come, first served basis that evening. Photographs, articles, and news clippings on the life and times of Amelia Earhart will also be on display in the Museum. This SMART Gals program is sponsored by The Ramsey McCluskey Family Foundation.  www.discoverymuseums.org
