Thursday, November 12, Great Presenters Series: Mike Patterson on Devon Island in the Canadian Arctic, Wayland Library, 7:30-9pm

Mike will share his experiences involving two weeks and 110 miles of trekking in the Canadian North, between drop-off and pick-up – including hiking over tundra and on the ice cover, wild life, weather conditions and arctic mirages.

Since retiring, Mike has led an adventurous life – climbing Mt. Kilamanjaro, climbing in Ecuador and France, canoeing down the Soper River on Baffin Island, trekking in the northern Yukon and across Ellesmere Island (less than 500 miles from the North Pole).  Less arduously, he has walked across England along Hadrian’s Wall.

The purpose of the Library’s GREAT PRESENTERS SERIES is to tap local experts to share their knowledge with the community.  More information about the series speakers is available on Library website.
