“Who’s Watching You? Owls of the World”:  A slide presentation and personal encounter with owls

Owls are truly magnificent. But most of us have never seen an owl in the wild. Now is your chance to have an up close encounter. On Sunday Oct. 18 at 2 pm. Russell’s Garden Center in Wayland will be hosting a special owl program entitled “Who’s Watching You? Owls of the World”. Join Naturalist Marcia Wilson in sharing her passion for owls.

A slide show begins the program by showcasing colorful wildlife photos by her husband Mark Wilson. Everyone will learn the owls’ call, during a hooting lesson, as well as tips on how to go out owling on your own. Marcia will introduce several owls each having a permanent disability which prevents him or her from surviving on their own in the wild. With each owl perched securely on her gloved hand, she will walk out among the audience. There’s plenty of time for close-up views, photos and questions. Don’t forget to bring your camera.

This program will take place at Russell’s Garden Center. Admission $8.00 Adults, $5.00 children (Children 3 and under are free.)  Pre-registration is recommended. Please call 508 358-2283.
