Attention Boys 1st-5th grade: Join Cub Scouts!

Make some new friends, learn about the outdoors, and give back to the community.

If you have a boy at Claypit Hill or Happy Hollow Elementary Schools in 1st – 5th grade, they should consider joining Cub Scouts!  There are two packs in Wayland: Pack 88 and Pack 1.  Pack 88 meets at Claypit Hill and Pack 1, for Happy Hollow students, meets at the Wayland Middle School.

Scouting is a great way to make some new friends, learn about nature, the outdoors, sports, building and community service!  Cub Scouts join a den with other boys in their grade, which meets once or twice a month. They also are a member of the Pack, which includes all the dens at their school.  Packs meet once a month on Thursday nights.

There will be a new Scout Open House on Sunday, September 13th from 3:30-4:30pm at the Wayland Scout House at Wayland Town Beach to learn more about Pack 88 and Pack 1.  Plan to stay for the hour for informal activities, or just drop by for a few minutes.  Meet some Pack leaders, see the calendar of events for this year, and try some fun crafts and games.  There will be snacks, registration materials and other information available.  For further information contact either Anne Bachman of Pack 88 (508-358-9112) or Tom Kemper of Pack 1 at 508-655-0546 or see Pack 1’s website.

This year Pack 88 will start the year off with a fall camping trip on Saturday, October 17th – Sunday, October 18th in Sudbury.  New Tiger Cubs (1st graders) will get to know each other at our Tiger Cub gathering at the Marlboro Wooden Toys and Crafts Shop on Tuesday, September 29th.  Other exciting events include the Pinewood Derby, an overnight at the New England Aquarium, a Bruins Game, a Boston Red Sox Game, and our annual end of the year Family Camping trip in June!  See Pack 88’s display window in the front hall at Claypit Hill School for more details.
