Lost Dachsund

December 5:  Lost Dachsund

Souci has been lost since December 5

Please Help Find Souci. Souci (pronounced Soosee) was walking with her owner and their other dachshund at The Greenways on Friday, December 5th. She is black and tan long-hair mini dachshund, gentle, timid six-year old spayed female weighing about fifteen pounds. She has a new collar, but does not have tags.  Her collar is black with sparkly roping.

At around 11:30 am Friday, she was startled/frightened by two large dogs and both dachshunds ran for the river from the open field. I heard yelping and ran toward the sound, down the access ramp to the water. The owner saw her younger dachshund about twenty feet off shore in the river, submerged with only eyes showing. She ran into the water and retrieved “Roxy” but saw no sign of Souci in the water or on the banks or anywhere. She is very attached to her owner and usually never strays more than two feet. She searched all over every path of Greenways calling her name. Her daughter and friends came to assist in the afternoon, but found no sound or sign of Souci. They came home after sunset and contacted the animal control officers, Buddy Dog, Sav-A-Dog, Wayland Animal Clinic with her description and information. Her husband returned to The Greenways and searched from 7-10pm —- nothing. They resumed the search at 7:30am and still found nothing. They live on Stonebridge Road and walk the woods behind their house almost daily. She might be lost between here and there along the river trying to find her way home. Any help or ideas appreciated.
