Girls swimming repeats as national champions

Wayland Town Crier 8/12/09:  Girls swim retains top rank; boys move to second.  The National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America (NISCA) recently released their end-of-season awards, including their most prestigious team award that does a ranking of high school programs throughout the country.  For the second year in a row, the Wayland High School girls’ swimming and diving team was recognized as NISCA national champions for the small public school division.  The boys team had a big boost in this year’s rankings as well. They, who have never finished higher than seventh (2004, 2006), found themselves in the runnerup spot for their division this year.
