FLU CLINIC – POSSIBLE DATE CHANGE.  PLEASE NOTE: We have just learned that the Commonwealth Of Massachsuetts may delay sending seasonal flu vaccines due to the push to supply H1N1 vaccines.  If this is the case, the seasonal flu clinics will need to be rescheduled.    Until further notice, the flu shot clinics, NOT for the H1N1 virus, will remain scheduled for Tues. Oct. 6 from 10-1 and 4-7, Oct. 15 from 1-4. Both clinics will be in the Large Hearing Room of the Town Building.  In addition to the Seasonal Flu there will be an additional Flu Vaccine specifically for the H1N1 strain. This vaccine will be available to town residents once it is released, most likely later than the Seasonal Flu Vaccine.  Getting a Pneumonia Vaccine is one of the best ways to prevent this serious flu complication. If you have not received a Pneumonia shot within the last 5years and would like one, please contact the Wayland Board of Health Office at 508-358-3617 to make an appointment to obtain one.

REGISTER NOW for 55+ FORUM – an “on-line” discussion site
Wayland residents REGISTER NOW on waylandenews.com so you will be able to network with other Wayland resident about home repairs, contractors, cost saving tips, pet concerns and much more. Although anyone may view the 55+ Forum, only Wayland residents 55 years of age or older who register, may post or respond to questions asked. There are categories for postings to help organize the comments. Why have a 55+ Forum? Most older residents do not have the networking opportunity that younger families have with school aged children. The 55+ Forum provides an opportunity for a resident  to share information or ask about most anything. Perhaps someone is looking for a book group or bridge club in the Mainstone condo area or someone else just discovered a lock-in price for fuel oil and wants to let everyone know. Don’t miss out on this new offering.    Residents who are interested, but unsure what to do, are welcome to contact the COA office.  An appointment will be scheduled for you to receive instruction in their computer lab at the Wayland Town Building.
