Doran Road Property Advisory Committee

MOTION:

That the Board of Selectmen establish a temporary advisory committee to be known as the Doran Road Property Advisory Committee to assist the Board with exploring the feasibility of developing and implementing a plan for the use of Town-owned parcels on Doran Road, Pond Drive, Cross Street, and Curtis Road.  The committee will review the suitability of the parcels for affordable housing, treatment of wastewater generated by any development as well as potentially for adjacent properties, and the preservation of open space within the area.  The Committee shall establish and maintain an open dialogue with the residents of surrounding neighborhoods, particularly those residents that are legal abutters to the parcels, through public meetings. 

The committee shall be comprised of seven (7) voting members, of which not less than two (2) are to be residents from the neighborhood.  At least five (5) members of the Committee should have significant experience in at least one of the fields of expertise:  multi-family residential development; architecture, landscape architecture, or other relevant design discipline; financial management; grantsmanship in the areas of affordable housing or community preservation; or civil engineering.  Of the remaining members, expertise in land use planning, project management, and conservation are desirable.  The Board will appoint the chair of the Committee.  Appointments to the Committee shall expire on June 30, 2010.
