NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Program returns to Wayland on September 25

The NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK (PPK) program is returning to Wayland on September 25th, 2009 for the third consecutive year. The local qualifier, sponsored by Jeffrey S. Baron Insurance & Investments in partnership with Wayland/Weston Pop Warner, will be held under the lights on Wayland High School’s Turf Field. Winners move on to the Sectionals for a chance to compete at Gillette Stadium in the late Fall.

Established in 1961, PPK is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 8 -15 to compete separately against their peers. Girls and boys in four separate age divisions (8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) compete against each other in punting, passing and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum. Your age group is determined by what age you will be as of December 31, 2009 (i.e. —  a seven-year old who turns eight in November can still compete).

With more than four million boys and girls from around the country taking part in the PPK competition every year from July through January, it is one of the world’s largest youth sports participation programs.

Entrants are asked to arrive at the field by 5:30pm with a parent/guardian, a copy of their birth certificate, and sneakers (no cleats allowed). For questions, contact Jeff Baron.
