Wheels for the World needs help

Wayland Town Crier 3/19/09: Wheels for the World needs help. Wheels for the World (WFTW) is an organization that collects used mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, crutches, canes and walkers, refurbishes them, and then donates them to countries where such devices are considered a luxury for the disabled. Here in New England, the group’s activities have been organized and spearheaded in part by Wayland resident Cindy Leonard, with help from volunteer Paul Kohler. Kohler’s health is becoming a greater issue, and WFTW is in search of a volunteer to replace him. If you, or anyone you know, can help out WFTW in New England by picking up mobility aids in the six-state region, please call Cindy at 508-653-3743.
