Thursday, February 19, Happy Birthday Presidents Family Day, Spellman Museum, 11am-4pm

The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History on the Regis College campus in Weston will hold its annual Happy Birthday Presidents Family Day on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Activities will include stamp games, scavenger hunts and puzzles related to U.S. presidents, a stamp designing contest, Stamp Sudoku, and arts and crafts activities using postage stamps. 
Stamp prizes will be awarded and all children will receive free packets of stamps. A free photograph of each child made into a postage stamp will be offered.  Visitors can also view the Lincoln Bicentennial and the Presidential Inaugurations on Stamps exhibits in the museum’s main gallery. Visitors can sign the petition to the U.S. Post Office to have Boston Red Sox great Ted Williams honored on a commemorative stamp.  The museum has also announced it is available to host children’s birthday parties and continues to offer merit badge programs for Boy and Girl Scout troops, as well as programs for senior citizens.  The museum has been selected by the Nickelodeon Web site as "one of the three best museums for children in the Boston Metro area."  Admission for adults is $8, seniors are $5, and children under age 16 are free.
