Preview of Selectmen’s Meeting, March 23

A preview of the Board of Selectmen’s Meeting for March 23 from Town Administrator Fred Turkington:

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday, March 23rd at 7pm in the Selectmen’s Meeting room. There are several items of interest.

Representatives of WayCAM will be present to update the Board on their fiscal condition, providing an analysis of expected revenues and expenses in the current year and submitting a plan for replenishing the capital fund.

State Rep. Thomas Conroy will present an update at 8:00 p.m. on the progress of the town’s legislative issues including the municipal reform package, telecommunications tax, meals and hotel tax local option, and the Governor’s proposed distribution of aid to towns. He will also provide the latest information on the progress of the state government distributing the Federal stimulus funding.

The Board will review any issues related to Town Meeting, including distribution of the Warrant, any new information on articles, preparation for the Warrant Hearing to be held on Monday, March 30th at 8:00 p.m., and Town Meeting site logistics.

Selectmen will also discuss the use of gift funds provided under the development agreement by Twenty Wayland, LLC and the process for determining use of the municipal parcel within the Town Center project.
