Sudbury Town Crier 1/22/09: The traditions of Chinese New Year. In addition to special menus and red envelopes with $1 in them, Lotus Blossom plans to have two other New Year celebrations. For those who want to celebrate the Chinese New Year, Lotus Blossom is providing the food for a dinner Longfellow Clubs in Wayland, January 28 from 6:30 to 9pm. All our invited to attend. Proceeds from the $10 donation, will go toward HandiRackets, a tennis program the club runs for children with handicaps and to the Korean Refugee fund. To make a reservation, call the Longfellow Clubs at 508-358-7355. On Saturday, Jan. 31, from noon to 3pm, Lotus Blossom invites school children from Sudbury, Wayland and Weston to a free tasting of hors d’oeuvres, where they can learn about the culture, the meaning of the Chinese New Year and how to use chop sticks.
