Selectmen’s Meeting Agenda for Thursday, January 22

The Board of Selectmen had previously postponed their regular meeting tonight to Thursday, January 22nd in observance of Dr. Martin Luthur King, Jr. Day.

The agenda includes:

  • Presentation of the department budgets submitted to the Finance Committee by the Police Department, Emergency Management, Joint Communications Center, and the Fire / EMS Department at 7:15 p.m.

  • At 8:00 p.m., the Board will convene a public hearing on the finances of WayCAM, the non-profit public access corporation responsible for providing public access governmental, educational programming.  A portion of the cable bill paid by each household is provided to WayCAM to run the studio and provide programming.  Residents are welcome to speak and comment on any aspect of public access services.

  • At approximately 8:30 p.m., the selectmen will discuss in greater detail the proposal put forth last week by the Advanced Life Support Committee to supplement existing paramedic services.  Discussion will focus on the service provision details, potential collaboration with Sudbury and Weston, and the financial assumptions (both costs and estimated revenue) of the proposal.  The issue will also be discussed by the Finance Committee on Monday, January 26th as part of the review of Selectmen’s department budgets.

  • Lastly, the board will consider efforts to continue to press our case for equitable treatment in the expected decision to reduce current year state aid and the need to lower further aid in FY10.

The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room in Town Building.  The complete meeting agenda will be posted on the Town’s website by Wednesday afternoon.
