Wayland Town Crier 12/4/09:  New town planner ready to go.  Sarkis Sarkisian, the new town planner who has replaced Joe Laydon in the Town Building, doesn’t just plan, he envisions.  "Planning is vision. You’re not only looking at land use patterns and zoning, but initiatives like becoming a green community," he said.  Designing plans and then implementing them, in an energetic yet methodical manner, his excitement is infectious when he talks about projects for the town.  Some of the higher priority items on his agenda include proactively encouraging desirable affordable housing options; the design and review of the Cochituate Village plan; bringing the Rail Trail to fruition; and increasing the commercial tax base, particularly with the Town Center project.
