Preview of November 9 Board of Selectmen Meeting

The Board of Selectmen will convene on Monday (November 9) at 7:00 p.m. in the Large Hearing Room in Town Building. After a review of the agenda, the selectmen will hold a public forum on the proposed debt exclusion question for the high school project. The session is in keeping with the Board's policy relative to Prop. 2 1/2 ballot questions. Members of the Finance Committee will be available to respond to questions regarding the size of the proposed debt, estimated interest rates, total cost of borrowing, and the impact of the project on the Town's ability to finance other pending capital projects.

At 7:30 p.m., the Board will conduct the Special Town Meeting Warrant Hearing. The purpose of this meeting is to review the Warrant in detail and to respond to questions from citizens on Town Meeting procedures, any information contained in the Warrant, and to identify any information lacking so that additional material may be prepared for distribution at the meeting. It is not an opportunity to debate the merits of the articles.

After the hearing concludes, selectmen will consider the articles in the Warrant and vote their positions to make recommendations to Town Meeting. The Board will also review logistics planning for Town Meeting and hear the report of the Town Administrator.

The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Large Hearing Room at Town Building.
