Head of the Charles Regatta Invitation

This weekend, Sat. Oct. 17 & Sun. Oct. 18., marks the 45th Head of the Charles Regatta.  It’s the world’s largest rowing festival, 8,500 competitors–high schools, colleges, clubs and Olympians–from 15 countries racing in 108 events over a grueling 3-mile upstream course lined with 250,000 fans.

You are invited to our new Wayland-Weston tent in Reunion Village, a premium gathering spot for team, coaches, parents, alumni, faculty, residents and friends.  We’re Tent #1, first on the left when you enter the Village.  The Village is at the Boston end of the Weeks Bridge (a.k.a. Weeks Footbridge) at the regatta halfway point on the opposite side of the river from Harvard’s Weld Boathouse–see map attached.  Admission to the Village is $3, $5/couple, and all proceeds benefit the Regatta’s official charities.

The Village offers amenities that make it a great place to meet up and catch the action:
•    Complementary refreshments at the Wayland-Weston tent
•    Breakfast, lunch, snacks, nonalcoholic beverages, beer & wine in the Village Dining Tent at reasonable prices
•    Hi-def big-screen TV with live racing footage and scrolling results
•    PA stroke-by-stroke color commentary of the racing
•    Program and merchandise sales
•    Restrooms
•    Nearby parking and public transportation

Wayland-Weston Crew hosts will be at the tent Saturday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  On Sunday, cheer Wayland-Weston crews in four races:
•    Event # 37, Men’s Youth Fours, race start 10:12 a.m., look for Wayland-Weston bow no. 9
•    Event # 38, Women’s Youth Fours, race start 10:46 a.m., Wayland-Weston bow no. 64
•    Event # 39, Men’s Youth Eights, race start 11:24 a.m., Wayland-Weston bow no. 35
•    Event # 40, Women’s Youth Eights, race start 12:58 p.m., Wayland-Weston bow no. 15
