The Weston Friendly Society is pleased to announce auditions for our special 125th anniversary event, "The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)" by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart. Auditions will take place on Sunday, October 25th at 7:00 PM and Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Weston Town Hall (Townhouse Road, Weston, MA).
People auditioning are asked to prepare two contrasting songs (16-32 bars of each) that display their vocal versatility and ability to portray different styles. Please bring sheet music in a binder for the accompanist. In addition, please prepare a short (one minute or so) comedic monologue or reading. Since there will be no callbacks, auditioners may be asked to learn and sing music from the show as well as do cold readings from the script. Please be prepared to stay for the duration of the auditions on the night that you attend.
PLEASE NOTE: Since this is a special event celebrating our 125th anniversary, we are requiring that all people who wish to audition for the eight parts in the show have been either on- or back-stage in at least one previous Weston Friendly Society production.
Performances of the show will be on Saturday, January 23rd (our special gala night) and Sunday, January 24th, 2010. Rehearsal schedule is to be determined but will most likely consist of Sunday and Wednesday nights starting November 1st, with the number of weekly rehearsals increasing in December and January.
