Wednesday, October 7, Edible Wild Plants of the Northeast, Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters, 7pm

Come for a comprehensive introduction to the identification and uses of our native plants for food and beverage, featuring our most common and appealing plant species at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters on Weir Hill Road in Sudbury. Fresh specimens will be provided for participants to examine and sample. Seasons of availability, habitats, methods of preparation and nutritional value will be discussed. Illustrated pamphlets with plant descriptions, guidelines for responsible and safe foraging, and a bibliography for further study are distributed to participants at the conclusion of the program.
