Open House for 2010-11 at The Children’s Way

The Children’s Way invites interested parents to come learn about the Wayland Public Schools early childhood program. Two open houses are scheduled:  Friday, October 23, and Tuesday, October 27. Hours are 8:45am-10am and the events will be held in the Selectman’s Hearing Room, Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road.

The informational meetings are for adults only and will provide parents with a chance to meet Cheryl Fertig, the program director, to learn about The Children’s Way, ask questions, and tour the classrooms.

The nationally accredited program is located in the Wayland Town Building in space that was completely renovated 10 years ago. There is a fully equipped, enclosed playground. Children attending are two-to-five years old, and there are five classrooms.

Activities are hands-on and encourage discovery, exploration, and growth while emphasizing choice and the development of each child’s unique qualities.

The Children’s Way is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and offers both full and half day scheduling with the choice of enrollment for 3, 4 or 5 days.  It is in session for 10 months, September through June, and follows the Wayland Public Schools calendar. It is operated under the auspices of Wayland School Community Programs, which operates fee-based programs.  Please R.S.V.P. to the open house invitation by calling 508-358-7072.
